What Colour Should We Paint This Chair?
Process sculpture, 2015

Roundtable Residency, Toronto
As a part of the 2015 Roundtable Residency, What Colour should we paint this chair? invites viewers to dictate what the work will ultimately be. Using a toll-free hotline and a live-streaming service, viewers can call in and request any colour, and tune in online as artists Joële Walinga and Dylin North collaborate to paint the same raw wooden chair every single colour requested, between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, for the five-week duration of the residency. By the final day of the residency, the chair has been painted 83 times, and is heavy and misshapen.
